ARE WOMEN SAFE?

Let’s ask this question Are Women Safe? Do they have the safety to roam about alone in night? Has anyone left who have not been victims of eve teasing or harassment? These are the questions which should bother us now. As Rape, eve teasing, harassment are on the rise and here we are doing nothing about them. Why is that we are ready to protect our daughters but we are not willing to raise a voice against daughters who have been the victims. Why we only raise our voices when a bad incident comes to light but instead it happens almost daily in our country, why we focus on only the incident who have gathered the attention of the whole country? There are many women who suffer because of rape, eve teasing, harassment but we don’t know because we don’t care enough to read about them.

There are many cases of rape and even child rapes. There has been increase in rape cases instead of decreasing. There has been rise in child rape, which should not have been, given the debates about them. What debates will do good if no one is listening to them and if still after so many outrageous movements women are not safe, then what good will development and these movements are for. Talking of some frightful incidents which came to light were the Asifa rape case, Nirbhaya rape case which scared us. As in Asifa rape case the 8 year old was first raped and was then murdered by 8 men over some dispute against land. In Nirbhaya case, the girl was raped first with the rod and then was left on road naked to die. What was there mistake that this happened to them, they did not deserve this and yet it happened to them.

There are women who have been the victims of acid attack, and lost their confidence, self esteem and who thinks themselves to be not worthy of anything. But then the  accused are still roaming freely not having guilt of what they did and probably still thinking of targeting more women. These attacks wont stop until we don’t raise our voices against them. There should be more laws made to punish them of their acts, so that they should think more than hundred times to do this. We should just not babble about getting justice or giving opinions about what should be done but we should take a steps to protect them from these things.

WHAT WAS DONE IS DONE, NOW LET’S NOT MAKE IT HAPPEN AGAIN, BECAUSE IF WE DO, WE DON’T DESERVE THEM. THEY DON’T DESERVE THIS,THEY DON’T NEED TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS. THEY ARE THE ONES WE WORSHIPED IN NAME OF GODDESS WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG AND NOW WE TREAT THEM LIKE THEY ARE ANIMALS. WE HAVE TO STOP THIS, WE HAVE TO STOP TAKING THEM FOR GRANTED BECAUSE ITS HIGH TIME.
