It is not what happens to you but how you react to it that matters. Your status, bank balance, personality, and position, all are the results of your reaction to the situations that you have faced in your life. Most people want to change their life, but they also don’t want to leave their comfort zone. The biggest irony of this world is that the more you try to be comfortable in life, the more discomfort life gives you. So just make some efforts to step out of your comfort zone and take life as it comes.
“Life is not as scary as it looks”
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone-
Your comfort zone is a place where you feel comfortable and safe. When you are in your comfort zone, you don’t feel the need to go out and do something to change your life. Comfort zone kills your motivation to do something great in life, in short: ‘Your comfort zone is your enemy.’ For doing something great in life you have to take risks, and to take risks you have to step out of your comfort zone. If you want to learn how to handle the failures that you might face while working on your dreams then you have to move out of your comfort zone. Steve Jobs, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and several other successful people are successful because they took risks in their life. An individual who is not ready to leave his/her comfort zone cannot take significant risks and required tough decisions in his/her life. It is the reason that why it is so important for you to get out of your comfort zone.
“Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new”
– Brian Tracy
Story of the two falcons-
Once there was a king who received a gift of two magnificent falcons from his friend. One day the king noticed that one of the falcons was flying majestically high in the sky but the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it had arrived. The king had tried everything he could think of, he had even hired some experts to make the bird fly, but the bird had still not moved from its branch.
After the king had tried everything and had failed, a farmer volunteered and guaranteed that he would make the bird fly in a single day. The surprised king gladly offered him a chance. Next morning the king was thrilled to see the falcon flying high in the sky. The king asked the farmer, “How did you make the falcon fly?”
The farmer said to the king, “It was very easy, your highness. I simply cut the branch where the bird was sitting.”
The wisdom to gain from this story is:
In your comfort zone, you can never learn new things and skills because you are comfortable with the old things. So you will never get the motivation to try new things and acquire new skills. You are all born to fly high in the sky. You have limitless talents and skills but they are undiscovered and to discover your true potential you must leave your comfort zone. So from now on, destroy the branch of fear and fly high in the sky!
GO and realize your dreams:
Comfort zone might seem like a nice place, but it is a wasteland where nothing grows. If you want something you never had, you have to do something you have never done. You were born and one day you will die, but in between that period you can do anything you want. Work hard in life and realize your dreams because your dreams are more worthy of your presence than your comfort zone.
“A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown”
