Is life truly short? From my point of view, life is too short for those people who have not lived it to the fullest. An average expectancy of life is 70 years. Of which 1/3(23 hours) of the time we spend in sleeping. We can do nothing of this time as sleep is a natural process and we need a good amount of sleep to have a healthy life.
We have remaining 47 years left for which we have a choice either to waste it or use it. We have a choice either to watch TV programs, partying with friends, or doing a job which we don’t like or experience new things, visit new places, meet new people, and do the work we love. It doesn’t matter if you are 20 or 80 years old if you are not living in the present movement.
Children want to become adults so that they can party with friends; adults want to get mature so that they can have full freedom. A young man wants to get old so that he can sit at home and enjoy with his grandchildren. When he gets old he realized that he has not enjoyed his life and he wants to be a child again.
“As you grow older, you will find the only things you regret are the things you did not do.”
– Zachary Scott.
Life is short for those people who have not fully enjoyed the present moment and too long for those people who have. Life passes too quickly, just make the most of your life. Avoid those works, people, and places which you hate because life is too short to pay attention to things with less value.
“Begin doing what you want to do now. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand, and melting like a snowflake.”
– Marie Ray.
You don’t know your last day. It can be tomorrow or 100 years from now! Always be prepared and enjoy life to the fullest. Give love where it is needed. Stay far away from danger or discard thoughts of causing harm to others. There are people who feel happy when they see others sad. They feel extremely happy when they see their neighbor, colleague or friend suffer. What will be your benefit allowing others to wallow in pain? Absolutely nothing if you ask me.
You will never be given an award in this life by causing harm to people. In fact, the more bitterness you nurture inside of you, the more miserable your life will become. Life is too short to live a day with regrets. It is too short to hate. Do what pleases you and what adds meaning to your life. Offer help even when the person in question does not deserve it.
“Be patient and understanding. Life is too short to be vengeful or malicious.”
– Phillips Brooks.
You never know when your end will come. You cannot determine how long you will spend on planet earth. What will people remember you for when your end comes? And what do you want people to remember you when you finally journey to the other side? Do you want people to remember you as that great man or woman who made life interesting for others or the other way round? It is up to you what you make of your life on planet earth. It is up to you to enjoy life to the fullest because life itself is very short.
“Live every day as if it were going to be your last; for one day you are sure to be right.”
– Harry Morant.
3 Tips to Help You Make the Most Out of Life
To make the most out of your life, your first decision would be to decide what you want to accomplish in life. Your aim might be to maintain good health so your children can emulate you. Maybe you want to be in a relationship where both parties will show love and understanding. Whatever the reason, the following tips will help you accomplish it.
1. No one is better than you
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
You are only inferior because you said so and accepted. And life is too short to think you are inferior to someone. The people you think are successful in life today did not get where they are by sheer luck. No one is born with a better brain or skill than yours. You only need to develop skills and believe in yourself. No one would believe in you if you do not believe in yourself. J.K. Rowling, the writer of the Harry Potter encountered series of rejection for a whole year, but she finally made a breakthrough because she believed in herself. Michael Jordan was dropped from his high school’s basketball team because according to them, he was not good enough.
2. Think less, act more
“Take time to deliberate, but when the time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in.”
Stop spending too much time thinking about all possible way to accomplish a task. Gather the important information you need and get the job done immediately.
3. Be original, be you!
“If you walk in the footprints of others, you won’t make any of your own”
Live to please no one but yourself. You are amazing the way you are. So, do not be afraid to share your ideas, personality traits and thoughts with the world.
Life is too short, so make good use of the little time you have left. You cannot determine what happens the next second or minute. So, make the most of this opportunity you have to be alive.
