MORAL MOTIVATION AND BELIEF

“I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death.” – Thomas Paine

Once there was a man who walked towards an elephant camp. In that place, he found something quite interesting to him which provoked his curiosity. He sat there wondering what might be the reason and how it is possible. Seeing a trainer he started asking him, How the elephants were tied by a small rope that with their strength can easily be broken? Instead, the elephants could have been kept inside huge iron boxes. The man was completely confused as to why these elephants aren’t using their strength to let loose of the rope that they are tied.

The trainer then replied that during a young age itself these elephants are tied in the smaller rope of the same size used now so as to hold them. When they are small they don’t have enough strength to let loose those ropes that are holding them as a captive from nature. As the years pass by they grow up, conditioned to believe that those ropes can hold them. Even after they grow bigger they still believe that the ropes are strong and they can never try to break free.

What do you think is the reason for them to believe?

I have already stated the answer by asking you a question.YES look carefully.

<!––– –>

Belief is the only reason that the elephants weren’t breaking free from escaping from the camp.It was that over time they adopted the belief that it wasn’t possible. So they never cared about it or even tried to break free.

You can do a thing only if you have the belief that it can be done

We are all like this Elephant who have false beliefs that are holding from our success. We often take up certain things in our life so serious that they may make us believe that we are unworthy even when we have all the capacities. Belief can be dealt with in two ways one is like the elephant’s belief which will hold you back and the other is being positive and marching forward. A man is all he believes himself to be.

“Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.” – William James

No matter how much this world tries to hold you back, always believe that you want to achieve the success and you will not stop till you reach your goals. It is always the belief that can change your life for good or worse.

“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I shall have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it, even if I may not have it at the beginning.” – Mahatma Gandhi
