Procedure to enter in Chartered Accountancy Course

If you are going to enter in Chartered Accountancy course then this article will  help You. If you have started thinking about CA exam then you need to focus on your studies.

Now I’m going to describe the whole procedure from the starting to become Chartered Accountant. The procedure is quite lengthy so please read the article very carefully. There is detailed step by step procedure to become Chartered Accountant. A student can get admission by three methods.

1. By Passing 10th standard or equivalent degree

2. By passing 12th standard or equivalent degree

3. By Direct entry Route or by passing graduation.

Note: Procedure for getting admission in CA after 10th or 12th are similar. You can just take registration after 10th or 12th but you can be eligible for appearing in exam only after 12th.

When you cleared 10th standard or equivalent degree of 10th standard then you can register yourself with Institute Of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI). You can also register after 12th with ICAI. But you have to register with ICAI at least before 4 months from the exam month i.e. May/November.  After the registration & after passing 12th you are eligible to enter in Chartered Accountancy course. There are four main stages of Chartered Accountancy course:

1. Foundation

2. CA Intermediate

3. Articleship

4. CA Final

Note: When you are entering CA exam after Graduation then you exempted from Foundation but then you need to do the 9 months Practical training. Then you are eligible to give directly CA intermediate.

Content of Chartered Accountancy course: As already discussed there are different stages of Chartered Accountancy course.  Following are all the stages of Chartered Accountancy course & their description like Fee structure, Time period & the subject in specific stage:

1Foundation: It is the very initial stages of the Chartered Accountancy course. This stage takes 6 months time. You can get yourself register at least four month before the exam time. It means if you want to register yourself for the May or November months then you have to registered yourself on or before December or May respectively .This stage has four subject.

2. CA Intermediate: It is the second stage of Chartered Accountancy course. When you cleared your first stage of this course than you reached to this stage. This Stage has all the subjective type papers. This stage has two groups.

You can get yourself register at least eight months before the exam time. It means if you want to register yourself for the May or November months then you have to registered yourself on or before 1st September or 1st May respectively.

i) Each subject with their marks: This stage have eight subject. Four papers are in group 1 & other four in group 2.  Details description of papers & marks are there in the table:

ii) Fee structure of CA Intermediate Exam:

You can also take registration for single group then after clearing one group you can take registration in other group.

3. Articleship: This stage starts when you cleared at least single group from the second stage. It is a three years practical training period. In this stage you will works under a practicing Chartered Accountant to gain practical exposure. 

4. CA Final: It is the last stage of Chartered Accountancy course. When you cleared your cleared both of the stages of this course than you reached to CA Final stage. This Stage has all the subjective type papers. This stage also have two groups.

ii) Fee structure of CA Final Exam: There is only a registration fee of Rs. 22000.
