In the drizzling drizzles of Mangalore, there born a girl child named with Malathi krishnamuthy Holla with a tremulous smile in her face. In 1958, Malathi Holla doesn’t know about the huge obstacles going to occur ahead in her life. To be different among all the other children’s, Malathi Holla started walking in 9 months itself and after one year old unfortunately, Malathi Holla was attacked with major severe disease called”POLIO”, then Malathi Holla body started paralyzing from top to bottom. To get rid of Polio, her mother use to carry Malathi Holla in her shoulders to get electric shock treatment in the city of Bengaluru. Later, Malathi Holla spended 15 long years in the city of Chennai undergoing 33 surgeries in accordance with her school education.

Later on, Malathi Holla joined in the college to pursue her higher studies in the city of Bengaluru. During her college days she is one of challenging student and also a fighter cock in her class. For instance, Malathi Holla felt so much difficult to attend her class in the top floor, when she tries to attend the class, the class might gets over. In the point of time, Malathi Holla approached her father and told him that i feel like a numb  among my classmates and also I’m unable to get my classes on time. Immediately, her father replied that first accept you are a Disabled Person, did you approached anyone around your class what you want?, she told never. The next day itself, Malathi Holla approached her principal and stated her query, then all her classes were shifted to ground floor on that day itself.

During her college days Malathi Holla had an enthusiastic energy on wheelchair sport. Later on, those enthusiastic energy levels only made Malathi Holla to take an effective decision in her career. To enhance her journey of life, Holla undergone a rigorous training in track and field events. As a reward of her hardwork, she was selected to Paralympics in Seoul, Barcelona, Athens, Beijing and also in Asian games. Malathi Holla became one of the most enthusiastic sports personality in our country, who brought many laurels through her own chariot “WHEELCHAIR”. Despite her participation in the National and International Athletic Events, Holla has won 389 gold medals, 27 silver medals and 5 bronze medals. Though, she gets many medal knots in her life, no one was ready to put a yellow knot in her life. For that instance she never stopped her spiritual journey of life instead Holla started her own non-governmental organisation called Mathuru foundation, especially for polio attacked children’s from rural India in Bengaluru. Malathi Holla started Mathuru foundation with 2 children’s but now she is a proud mother of 22 children in her foundation.

Malathi Holla is the only women in our country to be the fastest female athlete on wheelchair at the age of 56. Malathi Holla always used to say that her father is main backbone of her, even though he is not educated. He always make her confidence levels to stand at the top, to be self-reliant, independent and  always ensure her to get a sound education from the society. Malathi Holla has received Arjuna Award in 1995, K K Birla Award, Eklavya award from Karnataka government in 1995. Holla is the first disabled person to receive Padma Shri in 2001. Holla also named as women of the year 1999 by the american biographical institute and International women of the year by International biographical centre, Cambridge in 1999. 

Malathi Holla also released a biography called “A DIFFERENT SPIRIT IN 2009”. At present, Malathi Holla works as a bank manager and a motivational speaker. Being differently abled person, she won her life . Why can’t we people win our life being abled. Come on Friends, start thinking about setting your serious career, choose your own interest and start working towards it. Malathi Holla is just one example of physically challenged person in the world to overcome her difficulty level, but friends your are being abled and one among the common group of people in the society, you can do many achievements in your life. Opportunities won’t come to your hand, if you need, you should struggle to search and get into your hand.
