TIME IS MONEY. We can make more money by the good use of time. We cannot make more time by even the best use of money. Whatever time is lost cannot be regained. Whoever knows the value of time will not waste a single minute of it.

One day the secretary of George Washington, the first US president, came late to the office. The president asked his secretary, “Why are you late today?” The secretary replied, “please excuse me sire, my watch showed me wrong time.” President replied, “You will have to change your watch or I will have to change my secretary.”

The US today is known as the most developed nation in the world. The nation became so great because the people there make good use of every single minute. It was difficult for president to tolerate his secretary wasting his time. One may say it is a matter of just a few minutes. A few minutes put together on many days make a lot of time. Time is precious.

We should always be punctual. Others may not be able to do what they need to do because we are not on time. When many people have to wait even a few minutes for us, they are all together losing a lot of time because of us.

We waste time when we sit around without doing anything. We also waste time when we postpone our tasks, when we gossip about others, and when we do things aimlessly and without proper planning.

With time everything is possible. The value of time is more than that of money. When we wake up in the morning, we have 24 hours in our hands that are still unused. They are our most precious possession. No one can steal those 24 hours from us. On the other hand, no one can have more than 24 hours a day. Great people who did extraordinary things did not have more than 24 hours each day they just made good use of every minute they had. We may not be punished for wasting our time but our life consists of the time we have wasted and we have lost a part of our own life in that wasted time.

Our success depends on the use of time. Thomas Alva Edison, the man who made the first electric lamp, was only a telegraph operator with a small salary. He spent his free time experimenting with a lot of things. He became one of the most famous inventors of all the time.

What we do during our free time will benefit us greatly. It will help us know more and do more in life. Every minute we save by making it useful makes us happier. A minute that is lost never comes back again. Always remember, when you are wasting time you are throwing away a part of your own life.

CONCLUSION:

Those who do not make good use of their time are aimless, unsuccessful or worthless people. By killing time, they are destroying their own chances in life. A successful person makes his time fruitful by doing something useful or enjoyable.

LITTLE DROPS OF WATER, LITTLE GRAINS OF SAND, MAKE A MIGHTY OCEAN, AND THE PLEASANT LAND. THUS THE LITTLE MINUTES, HUMBLE THOUGH THEY BE, MAKE THE MIGHTY AGES, OF ETERNITY.
