why premarital sex is still a taboo in India

Pre-marital sex                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Premarital sex is sexual activity practiced by people before they are married. Historically, premarital sex was considered a moral issue which was taboo in many cultures and considered a sin by a number of religions, but since about the 1960s, it has become more widely accepted, especially in Western countries. A 2014 Pew study on global morality found that premarital sex was considered particularly unacceptable in “predominantly Muslim nations”, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan and Egypt, each having over 90% disapproval, while people in Western European countries were the most accepting, with Spain, Germany, and France expressing less than 10% disapproval. Within Christianity, the Roman Catholic Church calls premarital sex a sin that must be forgiven through confession.

The word virginity only refers to a woman

the Only woman is characterized and referred to the word virginity. A hymen decides her virginity and that whether she is morally bankrupted by losing it or not. A man is considered this word has no effect

let’s see what our youth think

Expecting a virgin lady for marriage                                                                                                                                                          Gentleman! You have already been into physical relationship; you should not forget you have tempted another lady before. Girlfriend should satisfy lure but wife should be virgin. This is hypocritical you!

As both, the genders are educated, experienced, independent, career-oriented, modern, fast growing. Then why is sex still a taboo? It has been a debatable topic for years to understand why sex outside marriage is still regarded as a taboo.

One should know it that sexual desire is among one the basic desires. Sexual need is just like the need for food or water it is a primary need.

So why can’t the society legalize pre-marital sex? There are still many homes where the sex word should never be uttered. Our society completely disapproves of ‘’making out, kissing’’ situations whereas in foreign countries such as the USA and in some part of Europe it’s a completely normal behavior.

It’s high time to break the stereotypes of the society
